Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal
Students that have not met SAP Standards according to the SWC SAP Policy have the right to appeal to continue on financial aid on a probationary status.

Unusual Enrollment Appeal
2020-2021 Unusual Enrollment History Appeal form
Submit this appeal if it was determined that you did not earn academic credit at one, or more, of your previously attended institutions.

Dependency Override
The DOE (Department of Education) allows schools to exercise “Professional Judgment” in determining a student’s dependency status in certain situations where the relationship between you and your parent(s) has been compromised in a serious and ongoing way. Dependency Override’s are evaluated annually on a case-by-case bases and require third party verification. If you are unable to obtain third party verification please schedule an appointment with a Financial Aid Specialist by contacting the financial aid office.

Projected Year Income Request
The Financial Aid Office may be able to adjust data items used to calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) and your financial need if special circumstances exist that affect your ability to contribute towards the cost of education. Your Financial Aid file MUST be complete before you can submit a Special Circumstances Request.

Budget Appeals
The Financial Aid Office may be able to adjust data items used to calculate your Cost of Attendance (COA) or "budget" if special circumstances exist that make your Cost of Attendance higher than what we would normally project. Your Financial Aid file MUST be complete before you can submit a Budget Appeal.

Homelessness & Unaccompanied Youth
DOE (Department of Education), allows schools to exercise “Professional Judgment” in determining a student’s dependency status as it relates to homelessness and or unaccompanied youth. If you are a 1) unaccompanied and homeless, or 2) unaccompanied, self-supporting, and at-risk of homelessness youth please contact the Financial aid office to schedule an online appointment to meet with the Homeless Liaison for determination of status by contacting the financial aid office.
