• Student Educational Plan (SEP) and Semester-by-Semester Plan for each student
• Progress reports - to provide information to students as to how they are doing in their classes
• Workshops in personal development, study skills, career, and majors
• Cultural enrichment activities
• CARE Program – Grant and additional services for EOPS students who are single parents, have a child 13 years or younger and have an open case number with the Department of Health and Human Services
• Emergency loans
• Cap and gown for graduation
• Fresh Success Program - Federally-funded program that provides additional services to EOPS students that receive CalFresh benefits and are pursuing a career education degree.

Information in this section is subject to change as new state or institutional policies are implemented.

Currently, EOPS services are offered to students who meet all the following criteria:

• Be residents of California or be classified AB540; 
• Be enrolled full-time (12 or more units) when accepted into the EOPS program (6 units if you have certification from DSS Office);
• Not have completed more than 58 units of degree-applicable course work. This includes course work completed at all colleges previously attended;
• Be qualified to receive a California College Promise Grant (CCPG) A or B; AND
• Be judged to be educationally disadvantaged.

• No high school diploma or GED
• High school GPA less than 2.50
• Previously enrolled in basic skill courses
• Is first in family to attend college
• Speaks a language other than English at home

Spring 2021 EOPS applications are available online beginning November 16, 2020. If you are not in EOPS and would like to be part of our program submit an application, by completing the EOPS Online Application.

• NOTE: If you are already part of EOPS, you do not need to re-apply.

• Expect an email from EOPS regarding your application status about two weeks after you applied.
• If eligible for EOPS, student must:
  • Attend a mandatory EOPS orientation and sign an EOPS contract for services.

What is Fresh Success?

• Fresh Success is a CalFresh Employment & Training program, funded in part by the United States Department of Agriculture. USDA is an equal opportunity provider,employer, and lender. The program is aimed to support students pursuing a career education degree. The program serves to provide assistance to meet the needs of the student.

 Who is eligible?

• Be an EOPS student
• Resident of San Diego County
• CalFresh eligible
• NOT receiving CalWORKs
• Registered in one or more Southwestern College approved course, which include, ESL, Career Education, and Basic Skills

  What are the benefits?

• Individual Counseling/Job Readiness Assistance
• Textbook Assistance
• Educational Supply Credit

 How can I apply?
